Calibrated Cassini Images

A calibrated version of every Cassini image is now available. Simply include "CALIBRATED_IMAGE" in the list of file types when you download a cart.

Images have been calibrated using the latest release of the team's "CISSCAL" calibration software, and are in units of I/F. Consult the CISSCAL documentation for more information.

Updated Voyager at Saturn Images

We have updated the collection of cleaned, calibrated and geometrically corrected versions of the Voyager Saturn images returned by OPUS. The images returned should be more reliable and of much higher quality. Refinements to the metadata should make some images easier to find.

Found a bug in the way products are associated with observations. This bug may have caused downloads targeting the COCIRS, COVIMS, and VGISS (Voyager Saturn series) datasets to be missing associated FMT and LBL files.

Range and String Query Optimization

We rolled out a database and code optimization today, you may notice it if you perform range queries or string searches, and especially if you have tried doing both at the same time. Plus a few minor bug fixes.

OPUS featured in Planetary Society space imaging web class

Planetary Society blogger Emily Lakdawalla has recently initiated a series of classes on how to process space images. The classes are being presented live as WebEx conferences and can be downloaded and reviewed as recordings any time. Online, web-based tutorials are also available.

The product contains the entire desired range (and possibly more).

Cassini Ring Geometry update

We have re-generated a complete set of ring geometry parameters for all of the Cassini images at Saturn through volume COISS_2053. Queries for Cassini images that use the "geometry" tab should now provide more accurate and more complete results. Please report any problems to Lisa and Mark.

Beginning an API
We have the beginnings of an API online. The API allows you to query the OPUS database via http with your favorite programming language or from the command line with curl. There are 2 new links on the results page that will jump you directly to an API page to get you started. Cassini Movies
Mark has been busy identifying movie candidates in the COISS dataset and we have integrated these products into the tool. Check it out here: http://tr.im/A8Gy to view a movie click any thumbnail and then click 'play images as movie' in the sidebar

Larger Images
Small, medium, large, and raw images have been integrated into the tool, as have coloring that reflects the filter used to capture the image.
